Betfred demonstrated its commitment to supporting a worthy cause by donating £84,000 to Prostate Cancer UK, a charity focused on men's health. The generous contribution resulted from specific achievements during the British Masters golf tournament.
During the tournament, Betfred pledged to donate £50,000 to Prostate Cancer UK for any hole-in-one achieved at the fourteenth hole of the Brabazon Golf Course. English professional golfer Matthew Baldwin accomplished this feat, leading to a significant donation.
In addition, Betfred committed to donating £500 to the charity for every hole completed in two strokes under par or better. Furthermore, the company contributed an additional £500 for each drive to the green on the tenth hole.
The total donation of £84,000 reflects Betfred's dedication to providing financial support and raising awareness about prostate cancer. Owner Fred Done emphasized the importance of promoting awareness and encouraging individuals to undergo regular check-ups for early detection.
Betfred has been making strides in strengthening its partnerships within the gaming industry. In March, the bookmaker announced an expanded collaboration with gaming provider Playtech. This multi-year extension deal resulted in more of Playtech's betting terminals being placed in Betfred's retail spaces. Furthermore, the partnership included introducing horse and dog racing features on the machines, providing an enhanced gaming experience for customers.
Mark Stebbings, the group chief operating officer at Betfred, highlighted the significance of their ongoing relationship with Playtech and emphasized the growing importance of betting terminals as a vital component of their retail offering.
Betfred's recent donation to Prostate Cancer UK showcases its commitment to positively impacting society. By supporting charitable causes and fostering strategic partnerships, Betfred continues to solidify its position as a responsible and socially conscious bookmaker in the industry.
