Online bookie William Hill slashes odds on Steve Bruce leaving Sunderland.

Rumours published on social networking website Twitter have sparked a betting frenzy at William Hill on who will be the next English Premier League boss to leave his club.

The British bookmaker has slashed the odds from 25/1 to 14/1 for Sunderland manager Steve Bruce, after the word on Twitter said that Bruce could follow Darren Bent on the way out at the Stadium of Light, despite the team sitting pretty in sixth spot and with a chance of qualifying for Europe next season.

A spokesman for William Hill said that that it is difficult to distinguish between stories with substance and those that are purely speculative, but that when people start betting because of a Twitter story, "we need to respond and that's what we've done this time."

West Ham boss Avram Grant remains the odds-on favorite to be the next Premier League manager to leave his club, although several others seem to be in the hot seat.
