The rise and rise of the growing field of mobile gambling is continuing in the United Kingdom, with new research showing that activity doubled there in 2010.
Smartphones boost mobileThe British mobile gambling market generated some £41 million in the year 2010, more than half the £19 million it generated the previous year, the study by American research firm IHS Screen Digest found.

Around one in every seven British people, or 13.7% of the population, participated in remote gambling in one way or another in the last quarter of 2010, it also found, up from 9.8% just four years earlier.
