American Football Sports Betting Grows In UK

Betting on American football is growing in popularity in the United Kingdom, according to statistics released by British bookmaker William Hill.

Hill said on Monday that it has taken almost £20 million on American football so far this season, a 50% increase making it the fastest growing sport by turnover. The bookmaker is expecting at least £2.5 million to be placed on Super Bowl XLV, to be held on Feb. 6 at Cowboys Stadium in Texas.

Following the wild card games this past weekend, William Hill now has the New England Patriots as favorites to win the title, ahead of the Atlanta Falcons and Green Bay Packers.
